The wireless router pictured here is the router our members receive. It's plug-and-play: you plug it into a power source, and if it doesn't pick up a signal from another Free The Net router, connect the router to your modem with an Ethernet cable to create a wireless network. Additional routers can be used to repeat the signal and increase the wireless coverage.

VONIC is committed to open software and standards. Our hardware is based upon the Atheros chipset, our firmware is based on B.A.T.M.A.N. and RO.B.IN, and our authentication and administration dashboard application (DogOnRails) is written in Ruby on Rails.

We sell and support the OSI-certified Accton Mini Router.
