About

The Vancouver Open Network Initiative Cooperative is a not-for-profit membership-owned and managed co-op, incorporated in 2008 under the British Columbia Cooperative Association Act.

We provide open hardware and software for our approximately 30 individual and institutional members for the mesh networking of wireless (wifi) devices in the unlicensed part of the radio spectrum.

We support community wireless Internet access through our sponsored project, FreeTheNet.ca.

Our meetings are somewhat irregular and often informal. If you think you might like to get involved, you can send your questions and/or comments to us via our contact form. If you're curious about the nuts and bolts of our existence, our rules (bylaws) are below.
